Searching babgavant's logs I found this "To mux to MPG you need the MPG muxer in AVIVO (http://www2.ati.com/drivers/9-7_vista32-64_xcode.exe). If you have a non-ATI card you will need to run the installer and let it fail, then browse to the folder it extracted itself to and find the avivo.msi (C:\ATI\SUPPORT\9-5_vista32_xcode\Packages\Apps\AVIVO) and run that." http://babgvant.com/blogs/andyvt/archive...ng-on.aspx

I will find out if he supports a ts mux, it won't matter too much since the muxed file won't play anyway.

Actually don't install it, sub might be able to help here. Babgvant said to go to the SageMCTuner config and specify the specify the guid of the filter

What I was meaning was DRM'd files won't play this way. If you wanted to play non-DRM files you would use SageDCT.

Sub isn't online right now. Do you have the Hauppauge analog drivers installed? They have a ts mux and I see this @deviceConfusedw:{083863F1-70DE-11D0-BD40-00A0C911CE86}\{68E7FACB-C317-466D-B8FC-42AE81DE0681} and I think that means the GUID would be 68E7FACB-C317-466D-B8FC-42AE81DE0681

Well I did install it and it now creates a .TS file that I can view in VLC. It crashes NPVR when it tries to start though. It is also really jerky with no sound in VLC.

Well I think this was good progress, although not total success. I think I am done for the night. Thanks

As far a DRM'd files go, can this be used to record them in native form that can be played back in WMC? I guess my goal would be to use NextPVR for scheduling all of my recordings, and watching what I can live. Then watch the drm'd in WMC.

I am not sure that you are create a valid ts file with the ATI mux. I'd probably want a sample

Thank you sorry about the confusion on the configuration on the plugin.

That is really the only purpose for testing SageMCTuner with your tuner anyway (although there might be a few tuners that work in WMC that could also use this approach) native NPVR support and SageDCT are much more efficient. Hopefully we will be able to get there. We certainly are close.

Thanks again.

So sub and I think the GUID you need for the Mainconcept mux is indeed 68E7FACB-C317-466D-B8FC-42AE81DE0681 If you haven't installed Hauppauge capture software, check the wiki http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...ugeSoftPVR

I think you only will need hcw_mcmpeg2mux.ax

Good evening!
I installed the entire softpvr package since I may eventually use an analog device on this machine. I did some testing and if I am in Guide and select Watch, then the screen goes black, and if I go to the recorded TV folder, there is a 498mb wtv file that I can click on and watch the stream in WMC. This file is automatically erased when you stop the live TV. If I choose record, then it creates a folder for the program and records a ts file in it. There is also a .wtv file in the recorded TV folder while it is recording, then this disappears when you stop it. The .ts file cannot be played in Npvr and it plays fine in VLC, but has no sound. Logs attached. How do I know if it is using the new mux or the avivo mux? I will try to dump the avivo mux just to be sure. These are non-encrypted tests by the way.

I tried using directshowfiltermanager and it shows the new filter, but it is set to do not use. But setting it to preferred does not stick. The ATI mux is also set to do not use so I am pretty sure I have no clue what I am doing :o

Do you have <RollingFile>true</RollingFile> in your xml file? It looks like you do based on the logs and the error you describe. If you do change it to false or simply remove it then live tv should "work" as poorly as recordings do for you.

Did you have every find the logs in the ProgramData folder? They may offer a clue. After changing the GUID in the config the service will definitely need to be restarted

Also if you can make a very brief recording 20 seconds should do, upload it to megaupload, dropbox etc and I can have a look, it will be easy to tell.

The fact that your are getting a wtv file is good news I think. I will check with babgvant to find out why they are being deleted.
