im trying to use diko to convert my avi files to mpg. But when I finish converting them and try playing them from my library folder they lock up at the first frame? Any advice?

Does anyone recommend a good third party program to convert avi and mpeg1 to mpeg2? Diko does avi but havent been able to get it to make a working file yet and no support for mpg1.

TMPGenc has always done a good job for me; takes a while, but (I think) one of the better encoders...

Why would you take a perfectly good encoded file from CCE, and then re-encode it in Mainconcept? This makes no sense. Just mux CCE's output.
CCE with no filters can be fast, but in most cases mainconcept is acknowledged as the fastest (two pass) encoder, yet it's single pass product is often better than even tmpgenc, and easily 10x faster.
DIKO is just a gui for quenc/freenc. Both good, free, commandline encoders.
You can never have enough tuners!
