TVTome.com is no more

TVTome.com is no more, that means episode lookup/browse in my videos wont work anymore. it looks like cnet now owns all the info and changed it to "tv.com" with a completely different layout, that means i have to completely rewrite the code to get the episode info (luckily, uni holidays start next week, so it shouldn't take me to long, and i always use this feature so its high priority).

ugh, is a rule whenever a website is redesigned, it has to be more convoluted and a less friendly user experience. The style sheet may be better now, but tvtome could have been held up as a model of a streamlined site.

Reven, just wanna say thanks for the work you put into your plugins. All the 'extras' - grabbing thumbnails, looking up guide info, being able to delete the wife's stuff without getting off my arse (lol) - truly bring a level of added value and professionalism to them.

Now I've got my grovelling out the way, something I have wished for in the past is the ability to look up album reviews from 'My Music' in the same way I can grab info from imdb, etc., in My Videos.

don't know where you'd get it from - one of the larger music mags maybe? - but I think that would be a killer....

yeah i was going to try and do album stuff for music vids in my vids, but couldnt really find a good source for it.

the database is to small. and i want more info than just cover art.

amazon.com has a much larger and more international database, but the info isnt very good, i want info like music video director etc. i found a couple of sites that had part of what i wanted, but no one master site like imdb.com, so i gave up.

It's too bad good indy web sites are being swallowed up like indy record labels.

I wish there was an easier way to grab from Amazon, too. It's a powerhouse, but at least so far, it's here to stay. I wonder if they make images hard to grab on purpose...

Doesn't Allmusic.com have the info you're looking for for cd's?

You get a review, album cover, rating, styles and so on.. and composers for the individual tracks. Like this: http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg...9ss36ua39g

The downside is of course that they haven't got info for everything.. like, there're very little info on danish cd's: http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg...dgylm4xpnb

But it would work nicely on major releases.

now that looks promising... it passing my hard-to-find artist check (to embarrassed to say what it is , you guys would laugh), it however doesnt seem to have much on cd singles (which is what i wanted to use for music vids in my videos).

ill try and implement it into my music after i fix my videos, i will only probably do the lookup when a cd is ripped (since most cd rippers grab the album art anyway, most things should already have cover art, and i dont want to add a popup menu to my music).
