I've increased the delay to 5000. Sadly nothing changed. Livetv hangs after 1-2 sec. But recordings are working fine.
I'll try to install some new decoders. It seems to be an rendering issue - as you said the temporay file recorded by Nrecord plays fine later - it just hangs during live tv.
I will post my results. Thanks for your help Martin.
I suggest even higher, maybe 10000 or even 15000 try those and upload your NRecord and NPVR log. It is not really a decoder issue, NPVR does not seem to construct the playback graph properly.
Great!
I have livetv - with a 15000 delay number. Thanks Martin!
Now i'll try to populate the db with the dvbviewer's channel streams, using your command line tool.
My goal here was reuse my mediamvp and have livetv on my bedroom tv. The npvr dvb 'engine' is not stable enought for me (yeat) - sorry Sub - nrecord has constant crashes on my system, even with all the patches.
On the other hand, Dvbviewer is rock solid, changes channels very quickly, and has a great DLNA server compatible with my Samsung TV.
So joining both worlds would be awesome. But sadly the MVP now only renders the sound with these ts streams - tv remains black.
So i am just one step away...
PS: I'm using your mvpmc-npvr dongle as recommended.
Good news, but a bittersweet victory since the MVP is not able to play h264 videos even if they are SD. NetworkRecorder isn't notified that it is recording livetv for an MVP so I can even attempt to transcode on the fly for you, (with SD it might be possible). For recordings you could consider a postprocessing.bat file to create a file that plays on the MVP
Yeah, in the meantime i've learn about h264 and the MVP. But there are (still ) some mpeg2 channels, that the MVP will certainly play (i guess).
By the way, i've noticed that the tick "use H264" on network recorder does not hold. It unchecks itself every time.
Not sure why.

Yes SD should play.

It wasn't designed to stick, but then I've only really used the Import. Would it help if it kept the previous setting? You are the first to use this with h264 and I am open to suggestions.

Right now you are never sure if the setting was realy aplyed. You don't have any feed back from the GUI so, by remaining activated it would somehow confirm that the previous channel inserted was considerated an H264 stream. But that's my personal impression.

The confirmation is what shows in the grid at the bottom. However I gave you a bad answer to the first question. The Use H264 check box is used when you use the bulk Import from XMLTV or Schedules Direct feature and need to set the default type. It is read from the NetworkRecorder.xml file and cannot currently be changed dynamically. The Import is mainly for recording from devices where the channel number in the guide and the channel number you will be tuning are exactly the same, I don't know if that is applicable to you.
Martin -
been fighting with this for a couple of days off an on - but managed to get it woring in a restricted sense today -
I can stream and display and / or record the video and audio from my 2 dreamboxes (500s)
Thats all good - but in order to do it I need to put in a null entry -
ie NetTarget -o XXXX -t
this results in an empty command to the dreambox on the 31344 port needed and intitiates a stream
The need for this comes about as the image used on the 500 only employs the ENIGMA 1 interface and this does not support setting the
channel and initiating the stream in the same command - as has been seen earlier in this thread - with the Enigma 2 based dreambox.
So the problem I know have is I can initiate the stream capture - but cannot change the channel -
a separate command needs to be sent first - in order to change the channel ( this is a zap command)
and then the command to initiate the stream.
In the past I used the dreamboxRecorder plugin under gbpvr to acheive the required functionality, but thats not an option with npvr.
I could go the dvbview option - but that seems like overkill.
So is there a way to assign more than one command to the tuning action - either by way of batch file - or a token parse in the string etc ?
Hopefully something can be done.

Rayman
