Ah, I overlooked tha "unless..." part. Remember that Nrecord runs as the local system account and may not have the same privileges as your account. Is the "Interact with desktop" ticked in the recording service's settings? (when you run Services.msc)

Yes it is. But below that, I can choose an account, do I need to do that if I have an account with a password?

You could try running the recording service with your own account and see if that makes any difference.

Not really. It definitly uses the .ini file here and I'm running the same Windows as you are. What version of Acamd do you use? I have 6.18.

Me too. But maybe the source where I downloaded from wasn't reliable. Where can I get yours?

I succeeded in not having the acamd_pmt.txt, search,.... anymore. I think the problem now, is that acamd is several times trying to read the card, instead of looking in a buffer first.

It would not decrypt if you had an unusable version. Acamd won't read more than once if it gets the key from the card, are you sure all the parameters for the port/cardreader is set correctly (parity, stopbits etc.)

My card runs at E/7/2 but that's a Conax card.

BTW: I remember long ago I had serious problems with a Smartmouse cardreader that was said to emulate Phoenix, but I gave it up in the end and ordered a real Phoenix cardreader. Decrypting worked on and off and was very unreliable.
