About every other month, I rescan the over-the-air channels on the tv to see is anything new comes up. Well the other day a couple of new ones did. So I went into the settings in Npvr and tried scanning and even though it picked up some channels, they were ones that had no programing at all. Why is it not picking up the good channels that have always come in?

I added the two program files to the firewall exceptions, per previous posts and got the same results. I tried to register the filters and same thing. I deleted all the channels out of one of the tuners and same thing. I know that some of the channels are not weak at all. I attached the logs that were right after the last attempt.

Are the tuners going bad? Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Matt B.

AFAIK, a scan of digital channels only displays those channels that were not there previously (more properly, those that are already in the database)
This, I think, is designed to make it easy to add new channels rather than a huge list that would come from a satellite scan.
I think a wishlist request was submitted to have an option to display new or all channels found on a scan???

A confusing thing here in North America is that QAM digital tuners show new but ATSC digital show all. I am eagerly awaiting the wishlist fix that doesn't re-add duplicate ATSC channels (and HDPVR channels) after the scan.

big3b69's problem needs sub's attention it seems to get stuck on one channel and never retunes.

That is why I was only getting a select few channels, cool. I might try and delete all channels from both tuners and do a rescan. Is there a way to back up the channels before I delete them?

Make a copy of your npvr.db3

OK so I deleted all the channels out of both tuners and I am still getting the same issue, only one channel is being detected per tuner card. Plus I forgot to back up the file that Reddwarf mentioned, that on e is my fault.

Still the same problem I said sub needed to look into. It seems to be stuck on channel 12 rather than tuning new frequencies.

Yeah, it looks like the device isnt tuning for some reason. There is no real clues in the logs why though.

You could either try looking for newer version of the drivers, or maybe try setting <TuneTwiceOnDigitalChannels>true</TuneTwiceOnDigitalChannels> in the <Recordings> section of config.xml.

I thought that I had the latest drivers and software, but I went to the Hauppauge site and they had 2.4c. I downloaded, installed and now everything works, thanks.
