Did you get this to work? So does this mean if you select an element it gets the image?

I use it throughout the built in screens, so it definitely works. It basically gets called when a list item is about to be rendered on the screen. This is useful if you've got a list of like 500 items and you dont want load a thumbnail image for all those items upfront while loading the list - instead you'd only be doing it for those items that are actually visible.

Is there a way of getting a bunch of images slow time (another thread maybe) and update the UiList later. So the first images may not be there, but theyll turn up later.

Yep, I got it to work fine. I think the update-later thing is probably what sub does already. It's what I'm planning to do (for images and for metadata files), but it's also interesting to see the original dates on this thread, because that's pretty much the last time I managed any NPVR programming (I've just been so busy). I'll have forgotten what half the code does by the time I get back to it.
