With this cablecard mess, I am using mostly WMC7 for my recordings now (DRM Sad) So now I am selling my fully functional Popcorn Hour A-100 so I can buy an xbox to use as an extender. It is complete with the remote and power supply, in the original box. It was a refurb that I got a couple of years ago. It was on the shelf for much of that time as I worked on other projects. It works great with NPVR.

Instead of dealing with Ebay, I decided to give you all a shot at it first. I would like $65 for it and it will cost about $10 to ship in the US.

Send me a PM with any questions.

Well I put it up on Ebay. I added a 40GB drive to it. Looks like they are still selling pretty well.

The auction ends in about a day.

These DCT devices are certainly making an impact on users on the SageTV forums too, I read a few recent posts similar to yours where the sell the Sage extenders and move to Media Centre and xboxes. We don't have the DCT option in Canada anyway so I am very happy with OTA ATSC and my HDPVR.

Too bad you had to go the ebay route, although it kinda confirms my feeling that most NextPVR and GBPVR users aren't interested in extenders anymore, at any price.

sorry soccerdad, I didn't notice this when you posted it. I might have bought it then and saved you the trouble of e-bay. I may bid on it yet.

@martin - is there any downside to the older A-100 vs. A-110? I'd always assumed if I got a PCH that I wanted an A-110, but I really don't know much about these things.

I wrote this up a couple of days ago, for NPVR users it really doesn't impact the SD/HD mpeg ps/ts playback,

For my viewing, the A-100 has done a great job and plays everything I wanted it to. The picture quality is excellent over HDMI.
I don't understand buyers on ebay. During the last week, three A-100's went for over $65. Mine now has 10 hours left and it is still just $20. I hope the bidding jumps up later. Or someone is going to get a really good deal today.

A-100s have been going for about 60-70GBP over here during the last three weeks or so - they stay fairly low until the last few minutes...

I used to do a lot of buying of tech stuff on eBay about 5-6 years ago - I've seen stuff rocket in the last 10 minutes. People like to show their hand but won't push it until towards the end. Here's hoping you get a good price for it.

I just can't understand this. I would do anything (and do) to keep a computer out of the viewing area - what with size, and noise. The MVP was a brilliant box in it's day and the NMT's just a touch larger.
My server is an old P4 2.8gHz that won't display HD and is now tucked out of the way in the attic, stuffed full of tuners. An NMT is much cheaper than setting up a suitable PC for each TV.

wierd.

p.s. It certainly deserves more than the current $27 on ebay!

Hiya Soccerdad,

yeh quite weird that it is still so low.

Perhaps the A100 series is more sought after in UK?

Of course you are only offering shipping within US?

Maybe not so much demand?

I have now bought 3 x PCH100 series off ebay UK and you would normally expect a model like yours with hdd to be up to around a bid mark of GBP £50 without about 24 hours to auction end.

I did think about PM'ing you a few days ago to see if you would ship to UK!

Who knows, only you know how many watchers there are, they may all jump in at the last minute Big Grin

good luck and very best
