Software for editing Colossus/HDPVR recordings

Hi,

I wish to trim padding and remove ads from my NPVR recordings made using a Colossus capture card.

Back when I had a SD setup, I used Avidemux to edit the mpeg2 .ts files and convert them to h.264 files in an mkv container. It worked very well.

Unfortunately, Avidemux is no good for the files produced from the Colossus.

What software do you fellow HDPVR/Colossus users rely on for these tasks?

I don't mind commercial software and my editing machine has both OSX and Win7.

I prefer a simple interface since I never do anything more than cut and reencode, but whatever works.

If I could cut ads and change container without reencoding, it would be an enormous plus.

I've had good success trimming with H264TS_Cutter http://www.h264tscutter.de/show_artikel.php?id=5 but I've never tried merging.

Comskip and Comclean batch files with MEncoder works BUT it takes 2-3 times as long as actual run time and mucho CPU. I only run it on "The Daily Show" before dumping it onto my phone for the next day.

For commercial software, VideoRedo Suite worked well for me. Think it was version 4 had the h264 formats)
Frame accurate, and pretty quick.

Video Redo is pretty straightforward and has some nice features.

I use videoredo too. You need their latest version which is I think is called V4.

SmartCutter from FameRing is a pretty quick editing program. It re-encodes just what is needed around the cutpoints and is very accurate.

I ran across this a couple of years ago when TSCutter couldn't deal with a couple of my recordings:

TS Doctor is pretty awesome and I've not run across something recorded with my HDPVR that it couldn't deal with. Merge, cut commercials (the most recent version SEEMS to be detecting my comskip files! I need to check that out more), and it cleans the streams looking for errors.

30 day fully functional trial before it expires, so you can definitely give it a good test drive.

Yes the TSDoctor is a good application, I use it a lot to clean erronous recordings and cut commercials, but in some cases it crashes during the cutting process, I haven't figured out why.

I've been playing with video redo lately. It's very precise. Does anybody have a CMD line to use in a Postproccessing.bat?
