Just downloaded and installed GBPVR. Very, very cool. Of course, I have used only minor HTML tweaks to Hauppauge's base software, so this is a drastic difference.

Given that so much of the app is actually running on your PC, is there any possibility that we (somebody) could hook up with Media Player's DRM-capable WMA player or similar? In particular, I'm thinking of subscription-based services like "Napster To Go" and "Yahoo Music Unlimited."

I like my MediaMVP... I'd hate to have to toss it and my wireless adapater in lieu of D-Link's MediaLounge to play my protected subscription WMAs, but it would be a huge addition to my entertainment system.

Well you could burn the tracks to cd then rip them back in to your system using eac.

you now have tracks with the licences removed

Okay, but that would require either unprotecting the WMA or purchasing the tracks, no?

It depends if the WMA license allows burning (some licenses do).

Sadly, I have a similar problem. I stupidly ripped all my CDs to PC a few years ago when Media Player 7 was the one available. It had Digital Rights activated by default, so all my WMA's are protected Sad - I only realised this a year or so afterwards.

I have over 1000 WMA's protected sadly. I haven't used the original CD's for ages, and don't even know where they all are now - being able to play protected WMA's would be very useful.

Well, my DRM situation is a bit different, as the license is retrievable online if the license is not already on my PC, and Windows Media Player will do so--without the Napster client that downloaded the WMAs. It would be cool if we could somehow get that same capability. I know that D-Link's MediaLounge system connects to the PC's Windows Media Connect service (or something like that), so I'm sure it's not as simple as A.. B.. uh.. C.
