Genre Coloring

Two things that would improve the Genre Coloring:

1. Make it so that the chosen color sticks even if the Genre is disabled. I'd like to be able to set some colors and then enable/disable them as needed.

2. Come up with at least a handful of default colors for the most commonly used genres so that users can try enabling some genres without having to sit and pick colors. I'm never happy with the colors if I choose them myself, but usually will be content with whatever is preset. If you don't want to pick colors, I'm sure someone more graphically inclined than I could choose.

I realize the genres themselves must come from the EPG data, but undoubtedly there are a number of genres that are commonly used and could have their colors pre-set if they're present.

I was wondering the same things but went off picking colours instead - would be nice to have a standard set of colours for the standard theme, but here are my first thoughts,these are the genres available in the UK OTA EPG via DVBGuiide TVXML - be aware though my Artistic Licence has been revoked

If standard colors were supplied, they should probably be configurable by the skin authors.

After messin arand with this on the htpc I have found that the UK Genres are very hap hazard - Even News seems to apply to almost anything (Great Railway Journeys :confused

I have now just enabled 3 Genres - the only ones that make sense. (Double click the color code to get a colour picker)

Movies - Deep Purple

Sport - Dark Green

Kids - Dark Slate Blue

I was surprised how dark they had to be set

I have always done just two colors - Blue for sporting events, Teal for Movies.

My request is that the pop up genre list be alphabetized.
