I just tried importing channels from your mcesat.xml, and seemed to do all the right things for me. These channel numbers seem to match the numbers in your xmltv file.

What do you mean? Its always supposed to cope with multiple, since this is what schedules direct xmltv files typically have, and seemed to fine with your sample file.
Can you temporarily try with an empty database? ie, rename npvr.db3 to npvr.old, then run the app and import the channels again to see what happens?

just did it with blank db...same thing...only now it's starting at channel 1 - 80..still not the correct numbers..
i checked the <tuning> info and it is also incorrect..
only way i could get it to work was cutting off 3rd and 4th entries in xml so only 2 display-name are present..
even if i put same info in 3rd n 4th entry, still didn't work..
ideally i'd like to be able to use the name-only for display in guide ['ESPN',not '206 ESPN'], but not sure how i can force that...possible?
want logs from fresh import?
i also notice mine says "Source-Channel:1" and not Tuner:....if that makes any diff.
oh,btw this is on my HDPVR import...not a regular tuner..sorry for not mentioning sooner
