Hi

I have just upgraded install on XP 64bit (x64), doesnt seem to be a problem on installing.

However i have a new PC, running Windows 7 64bit, on installing i get the below box saying "DataDirectory registry setting does not appear to be set correctly", this is a new build, i havent changed anything, whats the installer looking for that this version of Windows 7 (with Server Pack 1) looking for?

C:\Users\Public\NPVR is there though...!!??? not tested the install yet (its a client for the XP 64bit server).
Many Thanks
Ashley

If you ignore the error, does it work?

seems to, ive not fully tested it, however its doing everything that the older (now replaced) XP client i had (which i still have, just moving everything over), everything works, ive not set any records from this client yet, however i can see the Tv listings, it is showing me recording info so i have no reason to believe it doesnt work.

I added plugins to the DataDiretory location and its seen those and they work (one is the TV Listings so uses the UI and Server data).

To stop confustion, the server is XP 64bit, the orginal client was XP64bit, however the client is now 7 64bit (both the old and new client have the same video card).
Many Thanks
Ashley

Doesn't it always produce that error on a new install? ie, it's not an error, it's just letting you know it's setting that registry value. I realize it does look like an error message, a bit confusing.

Agreed here too. A simple thing to ignore, but would be less confusing if the pop up message box would display something less scary to newbies. If I recall correctly, same type of messages appear on a new installation regarding the temp tv, and recorded tv folders....
