Failed Recordings: No error but no data sent

I got 3 of these errors last night and 1 this morning. Not sure if something has changed recently that would cause it? I have an HD Homerun Prime for my tuner running windows 7. I am on version 2.4.3. The issue had been happening I believe since the upgrade, but it was sporatic. It seems to have started happening more often lately. I have attached the logs. I saw something in another post about setting the <HDHRBasePort> but I don't have that line in my config.xml file? Are we supposed to add it? If so does it matter where?

I have attached the logs, though the nrecord log is full of "recently deleted episode" messages so I'm not sure there is any useful data.

Some of the failed recordings were:
Seinfeld 4/19/2012 2:30am - 3am
American Restoration 4/18/2012 10:30pm - 11pm
American Restoration 4/18/2012 10:00pm - 10:30pm
Sons of Guns 4/18/2012 9pm - 10pm.

Unfortunately all your nrecord.log files show is an EPG update happening, so there isn't much to go on.

The default if <HDHRBasePort> is not specified is port 36312

This happened to me just once in my recent testing. Is it possible to have the system rotate to another tuner if available, or give it a determined amount of time to try again? Sounds like this would be relatively easy to set up.

Its not as easy as it sounds, given I dont have one of these devices, or access to the same type of signals.

If you're able to find a reproducible set of steps or pattern, then I could look at what sort of logging I could add to collect useful info about the problem. At the moment it's a bit too vague for me to know what to do.

A set of logs from immediately after a failed recording would be a good starting point.

I agree it would be better to see if there is a software solution if this is in fact a problem there. In the case of a bad connection for instance, the system reports back that there is no tuner available. When my recording failed, this is what was in the log. The first line mentions no tuner available, and the second says candidate for moving to another tuner, but it doesn't.
I'm not sure, but is it difficult to rotate to another tuner? Do you need to specify that then?

I have attached new logs as I am still getting the same error. This time it was 3 shows in a row that failed with the same error.

I think the logs captured it this time.

This time I also had to restart the recording service just after I posted these logs. It was actively recording a show ( I played some of it back), but it wouldn't go into Live TV. It would just go to a black screen. I restarted the recording service and everything is good again.

Is it always the 'n'th recording after starting the recording service that fails?

I'm not sure. I don't typically restart the recording service unless there is an issue so if it is it would be a fairly large number (20-30 or more). It does seem to go in a row wher it will be 3 recordings that fail. Sometimes there is a random one here or there, but 3 seems to be the standard number.

I haven't applied all of the patches available, but none seemed like they would apply to this issue.

I'm having I believe a similar problem with this thread or others I've found.

Summary: Back to back recording of a show "New Girl" 9.00-9.31 PM PST and 9.31-10:01 PM PST, the 2nd one ends up failing with only being a few bytes. timestamps 5/1/2012
- 1 minute pre-padding, 2 minute post. 2nd one ended up having the HDHomeRun light go on as with the 1st tuner originally, but no data was being written to file

Windows 7 64-bit HDHomeRun Dual tuner - comcast, qam NextPVR 2.4.3

COuld it be my tuner setup (dual). This is channel 2 aka 702 HD.

What's the difference in the log lines with '702 7102 21' 702 - '702 7094 21'

702 = display name for channel?, 21 = frequency.
i.e. 7094 vs. 7102? My 2nd tuner does work fine in other cases of recording different channels.

My logs may or may have value, but I thought I'd try, and if there are any comments or suggestions, I'd appreciate it of course. Thanks.

I'm having I believe a similar problem. Windows7 locks up and I have to restart windows
Recorded dollhouse (1/05/2012 at 10:20-1120pm) recorded ok
But fringe (2/05/2012 at 2:30-3:20am) and supernatural at (3:20-4:05) didn’t recorded all on dvb-t with a Hauppauge 2200 card
Windows was lockup when I got up this morning saved logs I can’t see any thing in the logs.
