Cloud music storage and playback on NPVR

I'm experimenting with cloud music storage options and want one that I can playback on NPVR as well as iphones etc. It appeals to have a single storage of music that I can upload to one place and have it available on the pvr, iphone and whatever else I listen on. I assumed it would be easy in npvr, to mount something like an Amazon Cloud drive using Gladinet and then map a music folder to the music folder on the drive. But all I get is an exception error (no files, or some such message) when I navigate to this folder in the npvr GUI. Should this work?

nice idea. it'll probably come down to the way the drive mapping client responds to NPVR's access attempt. you might try a different client. also post the NPVR.log, maybe the error in the log will shed some light.

I'll have a go with other clients, maybe this one only explicily works with exporer and the Z drive isn't generally there... Anyway, the error is: Unhandled exception: "There are no more files":

I cant see anything in the NPVR.log (attached). I'll have a hunt around for any other clients.

You could try hooking up your Amazon account to a free SMEStorage account (http://smestorage.com/?p=static&page=pricing#free), then you can map to that via a ftp or webdav client like NetDrive (http://www.netdrive.com). I'm not saying I know that particular client will work for NPVR, but once you hook up to SMEStorage, you have a much larger variety of clients to choose from. In fact the Windows WEBDAV client might even work.

Thanks for the suggestions. Seems Amazon Cloud Drive is a pain because smestorage no longer support it (they claim amazon did something to stop them) and likewise the latest version of gladinet doesn't either. So maybe it's my cloud provider who's the problem here... The only one I can see that has an iphone music streaming app for music files stored in the cloud and I can map drives to on the PC (well I can via SMEStorage if not gladient) is Ubuntu One.

Whats the advantage over streaming from Home on nextpvr server(other than having to have the server running 24/7)

Can I stream to an iphone from the nextpvr box? When on the wifi our out and about anywhere else? I'm not aware that it's possible... I want a single central storage for me and my wife to access from iphones and the pvr (it's my main music player connected to the surround amp at home). And yes, if I did use the pvr for that, it would have to be on 24x7 which would be a minor pain.

Amazon cloud drive comes close, lets me stream to multiple iphones from one account, but not working from the pvr. Discovered that Skydrive lets you stream from their iphone app too but not sussed out how to get a mounted directory that npvr can access yet.
