can't uncheck "Avoid duplicate recordings when possible"?

in the recordings page of the settings, there's a checkbox which will let you disable deduplication of episodes (which i want to have turned off, since if an episode that i recorded before is going to be airing in higher quality later, i want to keep the later airing for archival). however, if you uncheck the box, nothing happens. moreover, if you reopen the settings page after applying, it is checked again. i also tried manually changing it in the config xml, but that doesn't seem to affect it either.

Try adding <AllowDuplicates>false</AllowDuplicates> in your <Recording> section of config.xml, then the checkbox should start working correctly.

so then what is " <ScheduleDuplicates>false</ScheduleDuplicates>" for then?

Nothing. It's been looking for <AllowDuplicates>.

I've removed <ScheduleDuplicates> for the next release.

cool, that worked! any way to get it to recompute my recurring shows with this setting? i found the only way to get it to add previously unselected shows is to remove and re-add all of my scheduled recurring recordings

Pending recordings get deleted and re-evaluated and rescheduled when the automated EPG update happens, so it should correct itself.
