I tried EVR with the same results. Audio with SD, no audio with HD. I've attached "SecondNPVR.log" zip and a picture of the graph from a test with EVR.
Thanks for the suggestion! I've tried many combinations of renderers and decoders.

What happens if you press {CTRL}-E and select an audio track?

If you can select and hear an AC-3 audio track you may have to do what Martin said:

Try Whurlston/Martins suggestions. Anyway, madVR does not work well with npvr (I have tried it) so my advice is to stay away from it. Can you post a screenshot of your decoder settings screen?

Here's my LAV decoder settings. When I hit Ctrl-E, I get a menu with three options (in this order):
Disabled
Track1 [AC3, eng]
Track2 [MPEG1, und]

If I select Track1, NPVR freezes and I have to kill it and restart.
I'll try <ForcedLiveTVClock>AC3 Audio Renderer</ForcedLiveTVClock> when my daughter is done watching her movie.

I assume you're connected to an amp or tv that can handle bitstreamed ac3?

That's an excellent question. I have a Sony Bravia kdl-46ex400 and I have no idea if it supports bitstreamed ac3. I did some research but couldn't find anything definite. I had assumed that HDMI audio supported AC3, but really no basis for that assumption. I'm in over my head with this move from GBPVR to NPVR and HD. Is there a way to find out about my TV? If it doesn't support AC3, what do I need to do?

Untick those bitstream checkboxes in LAV and it'll get the PC to do the decoding instead. And possibly ensure that your Windows speaker setting (in control panel) is set to 2 channel.

untick the bitstreaming options in the lav config. I have a Sony Z5500 TV and I don't think it likes bitstream input.

I'm not aware of any television that supports AC-3 audio on input but the tuner.

I unchecked all of the bitstream checkboxes, but still no audio. When I hit Ctrl-E, the first option is still 'Disabled' and when I select 'Track 1 [AC3, eng]' it still locks up NPVR.
