My last recording didn't start properly and looking at the devices, I found there are duplicate entries for all the tuners along with some I don't even have like the HDHomeRun Prime. I tried to delete all the duplicates, but that didn't work, they just reappeared as soon as I restarted. It looks like NPVR is trying to use the blank tuner rather than the actual tuners which are mapped correctly.

I'm at a loss to get rid of the duplicates and get NPVR back to normal.

A screen shot is in the zip. When I right click on the icon in the tray and "show status" it takes 15-20 seconds to open and the window is blank, no devices showing.

which means nrecord is probably not running. view devices screen and post all logs. also as I write this you haven't posted the screenshot either, but maybe you're adding it now...

(edt: oh, that zip posted inline in your OP... I always miss inline attachments, and apparently so does sub. just attach them the normal way, so we can all see them)

Ok, I'm not sure what was going on, but I'm back up an running.

Even though I had restarted both the service and the computer a couple of times it still showed duplicate devices before I originally posted. I noticed that the icon in the tray didn't look right, it had a halo of white dots around the perimeter. I shut down the service and re-registered the filters then restarted the service. That fixed the "halo" and then right clicking the icon and displaying the "status" worked right in that it popped up immediately. However, the window showed some devices, but not the right ones and some duplicates. I restarted the computer again and now everything is back to normal. Strange, not sure what caused it, and really not exactly sure what fixed it.

Just so you can see what it was doing, here's a copy of the screenshot. I had included a copy in the zip, not sure why it's not showing on your end.

I cant see any duplicates there. They all seem to be unique.

You do get the HDHomeRun devices listed the both ways they can be accessed, but thats normal. If you've got an HDHomeRun Prime, then use the ones listed with type 'HDHR', otherwise use the 'QAM' or 'ATSC' ones.

I had very similar problems with my homerun boxes which also mucked up the fta epg. Deleting the npvr.db3 file and then redefining my tuners fixed it for me.

BTW the latest release seems very nice, thanks sub.

I spoke too soon...

This morning the NPVR service won't even start, I get this error. I've restarted the computer numerous times and tried stopping the service and restarting it, each time i get this error. I've disabled both the firewall and virus software and still get the same results.

Are you able to start/stop/restart the service if you run Services.msc?

No, I couldn't restart the service from services.msc, it gave me the same error. I had a copy of the npvr.db3 that I saved before upgrading last week. I used it to replace the active one and it solved the start up problem. I guess it got corrupted or something. The tuners now work correctly and show up right with the exception of the AVerMedia H826 Hybrid TV BDA tuner, I still have a duplicate, but it seems to be working correctly.

Sub, I've never had a HDHomeRun prime.
