Hi,

I have tried a few variants, inluding re-installing from scratch in case anything is hanging over from previous installs, and leaving next pvr client minimised, and I can't get the timer to record a series.
The firs ep gets done, then.....

Just now I have tried Unticking the box in settings that says avoid dsuplicater recordings, in case this is the problem - I would have thought not but...

Anyway, if it doe not work I will be back to ask more...

Cant otherwise figure it out - it used to work fine (GB-PVR)

System - windows 7 32bit with all updates.

Can you post your zipped up logs and the name of the show you are trying to record. Otherwise no one stands a chance of trying to see what is going wrong.

Gladly - let me know where the logs are and I will oblige...

ps triued recording Granada Reports at 1800-1830 yesterday with series record, and this time I had option to eliminate duplicate recordings turned off...

Yesterday wenbt fine, todays recording produced a file but it has 0kb in the file...

L;et me know where the logs should be and their likely filename pattern and I will get them zipped and posted

The second post in the support forum details where the logs are kept for the different operating systems (XP / W7)

There was no obvious sign of errors around that recording in the logs.

Does the device ever work? Does live tv work? Live TV and Recordings use the same mechanism, so should behave largely the same.

Is it just certain channels that are the problem? ie, check if you can watch live tv on the same channel as Granada Reports aired.

All things appear normal except for the recording of a series - I can watch the channels I intend to record, a single record seems to work ok, though I havent tried setting one a few days in advance...

What I can say is when I was using 64bit vista I did not seem to have a problem - earlier this year I had a regular record running of the same report, and some other programs...

Now I am using 32 bit windows 7, but also the version of NPVR has changed, but as I am not seeing a lot of forum discussion along this topic I guess there is something to do with my setup that has hit a snag...

Like I said, after changing the setting to untick the option to avoid duplicate recordings seemed to work, but no actual file content was saved. I saw the log activity for 22/8/2012 for Granada Reports, but the output file is 0kb...

I have been a little puzzled in the past about windows 7 permissions, windows seems to do it a little differently to how it used to, but then why would I get the first recording and not the rest?

What I can try is using windows media player to record some stuff (ugh Sad ), and see if that works ok - at least then I can say windows OS and the tvcard are talking to each other, so NPVR shouldnt be having a problem because of device drivers or channel problems...

They shouldn't be any different. A season recording just causes the app to create multiple one-off recordings. At recording time they're identical. If you see them listed in the pending list, then it should have successfully scheduled the one off recordings for that recurring recording. There must be some other factor that you've not noticed yet.

Have you tried deleting and recreating your recurring recording?

Yes I have a number of times.

Just checked recording log now and it seems recordings have failed lkast 2 times because of signal lock failure.

Checked live TV and no picture is displayed, even though epg updated from channels monday still shows timetable for all channels.

In other words channels were there monday but not after (png attached).

Should be a high signal from winter hill (not sure if its a or b)

You'd probably have to setup a series of tests so we can see a one-off recording succeed, and a season recording of the same channel fail, and post the logs, so we can compare the two.
