New to nextpvr, problems after install

Thanks for the tip, I've pretty much found out that acamd is not started when trying to view channels. I know acamd is working and setup correct (and put in correct folders) So I guess it's MDAPI_Plus that doesn't work with NPVR, seems a bit odd though, unfortunatly I cannot find a download for MDAPI V3 fall 2009. The download link I had doesn't work.

Got it working, for future reference, I could not get it working with MDAPI_Plus, however mdapi 2009 fall v3 works.

I think you're referring to old GBPVR stuff (pre-NextPVR). NextPVR has built in multidec support. If you're following old instructions, your multidec files are probably in the wrong place.

mdapi 2009 fall v3, is as it says not updated since fall 2009, however there is a new version of mdapi, called mdapi_plus, mdapi_plus automatic installs itself to work with mediaportal and 4therecord, however it did not work with nextpvr. So I had to uninstall it and use the old mdapi.

Everything seems to be working fine now, expect the EPG will only populate now/next. In 4therecord it would auto populate 7 days for all channels, on mediaportal I had to choose wich channel that holds the complete EPG data (1 channel has EPG for all channels, while every channel only has now/next).

I think you're referring to http://sourceforge.net/projects/mdapifilter/ and http://sourceforge.net/projects/mdapifilter/. These aren't used by NextPVR. These were just projects were various developers have tried to create directshow filters that do multidec. Multidec existed long before those came along.

NextPVR has it's own implementation of multidec, and doesn't use those directshow filters.

It'd usually give you everything that is being broadcast. Did it not pull it in when you did an 'update epg'? From your description of how your broadcaster is doing things, do you have at least one channel enabled from the frequency that is carrying the EPG?

Yes, I'm talking about mdapifilters, funny that it wouldn't work, but when I uninstall mdapi_plus and install old filters it works. Maybe it was blocking somehow. Or it was the ffdecsa from mdapi_plus that was not compatible.

As for EPG, I didn't do anything special during setup and I automatic got the now/next epg.

I clicked the update epg button, and it just finished, and epg is fully populated now, I'm a very happy camper now

To use multidec with NextPVR, then general steps are:

1) In Settings->Devices, double click on your device, and set the 'CI / CAM' setting to 'Multidec'.

2) Open windows explorer and take a look in "C:\Users\Public\NPVR\MDPlugins" you should see a directory for your device. Put your multidec plugin files in this device directory (ie, ACamd.dll, ACamd.ini etc).

3) Place the FFDecsa.dll file in you NextPVR directory (C:\Program Files\NPVR).

4) Reboot.

yeah, must have been problems with FFDecsa.dll (the one included in mdapi_plus)
