Newbie Question on Recoding

Hello,

I'm thinking of installing GB-PVR, but before I do so, I have a question. Lets say I am watching Live TV and while doing so I decided to record the programme by hitting the record button on my remote. Can I record just part of the programme by hitting stop later on, or do I have to wait for the programme to end? Basically just an instant record function that I can stop when I want like a proper VCR.

I was hoping GB-PVR would have this feature. See my mother uses the computer too and scheduling is just too faffy and long winded for her. She needs basically hit record on the remote to record, stop to stop recording.

I know that Sage records Live TV all the time, but she wouldn't have a clue as to how to chop up the file. I don't think I'd have the time to do it for her too.

Anyway maybe I'll see it implemented soon. Either way thanks for the reply.
