Support for PCIe DVB-T2/T Dual Tuner Card TBS6280

Hi there!

This card supports the detection of DVB-T, DVB-T2 and DVB-C.

Previously there were 2 sets of Windows drivers that only allowed either DVB-T/DVB-T2 mode or DVB-C mode depending on which drivers were installed.

Recently a combined version of the drivers were released.

But I notice that NextPVR can only detect the card as DVB-T2 card and cannot tune to DVB-C signal. Is there any programming that needs to be done to tune both DVB-T/T2 and DVB-C on the single device as detected in NextPVR?

Can you view the Settings->Devices screen, then post the npvr.log? I'll check which tuning types the device claims it supports.

It looks like that driver doesn't claim to support DVB-C. It should also say "KSNODE_BDA_QAM_DEMODULATOR" if it supports DVB-C. I do wonder what that "Unknown Node Type" is though.

Can you post the same log with this patch? It'll give me a little more info about that unknown node.

Ok, that unknown node isn't about DVB-C.

It looks like a driver bug to me. They don't seem to be reporting the driver is capable of DVB-C.

The standalone DVB-C drivers works perfectly though.

Every other DVB-C device I've seen has a KSNODE_BDA_QAM_DEMODULATOR node. This driver doesn't, so the app doesn't think this device provides any DVB-C tuning capability. TBS would need to fix this for it to compatible with most apps.

sub, I managed to get it working.

It seems that configuring the new device that came up does indeed allow me to tune to DVB-C signals and record them. So consider this as no-action-needed on your client end.

The standalone DVB-C drivers works perfectly though.

I can confirm that it works already. Just configure the new device that crops up, using All Countries and All Regions.

I reckon that from the driver back-end, the manufacturer somehow does a mapping of the DVB-C signal into a DVB-T signal so third-party apps like NextPVR detect them as DVB-T signal.
