So I have started integrating XBMC into my setup and ImageGrabLite has become part of my world to rename all my files. Looks really neat but only partly works.
My setup involves watching HD on UHF but getting EPG from satellite. All works fine but doesn't seem to have any episode information. Sad

So might need to change my approach. So i wanted to hear from NZ users that have EPG coming from a source that works well with ImageGrabLite.
Whats your approach and whats the best EPG source to get everything working well?

Cheers.

If you can upload a copy of your npvr.db3 I can look to see if I can improve the matching in any way, For TV Shows iGL does depend on there being either series/episode information, a correct original air-date or proper subtitle (episode title). For movies the name of the show with a genre should be enough. Sometimes I see something in the data that I can clean out that improves the matching

Additionally my current version of iGL supports creation of tvshow.nfo, and episode.nfo so even when there is no match it will get imported, so I can upload that if you'd like Most of my projects are no primarily being updated for personal use, my last beta received for UK users received no feedback whatsoever, in fact over the last few months the only comment I read was that someone wanted to "eliminate" it from their system. It is working nearly 100% reliably for me and making it personal use means I don't have to post updates or instructions but I can always try again.

I don't know about integrating imagegrablite, but I use the epg collector hosted out of Geekzone.co.nz for DVB-T based EPG collection (it reads the mheg5).

You will find that over here our airdate don't match the US, and most shows don't have Series/Episode numbers (of note is that TV3 have started putting them on the episode descriptions which is awesome...)

Sorry, I misuderstand a bit, you did give some initial feedback, but I I didn't get a sense whether it is working or not, and I usually figure that at least in beta no news is bad news, people tend to stop using it, move on and not report.

Thanks for the reply. What is the latest version and how do I find it? I must admit that without a wiki page I found it hard to find the most up to date version. I picked one off one of the threads. My EPG comes from the standard NZ freeview satellite signal. I have no idea what its content holds.

It seems to be picking up the program thumbnails, which is nice. But thats about it. below is a pretty standard log output

Code:
[...startup]

2012-11-28 19:03:02.925    [DEBUG][1]    Cannot rename file, no episode information

I have attached my logs and db file. let me know what you think.
Cheers in advance.

Thanks some improvement is possible. I am glad you picked Futurama as an example, since that happens to be one that has the information in the description that psycik described that I can use for renaming.
