Can I ask a quick question please - the install instructions say:

Q: Is there anything else i need to install?
A: No. Just install NPVR/GB-PVR and *unlocked* SAF. SAF should set all automatically.

I did this but apart from ffshow DXVA I cannot see it added anthying else (like PDVD12 e.g.)
I had LAV installed before in any case. Am I missing something?

Hi.
Looks like SAF failed to download unlocked data.
Try offline unlock instead.

From SAF LOG:

Another quick q - if you say no to uninstall, it stops - seems to do nothing?
Is there a possibility to have it install without uninstalling the previous version, or rather to install the new one on top of the previous one, so all the settings from the previous install are kept intact, incl. unlocking etc?

Hi.
Nope. SAF need to reset all settings to default. There is possibility that old settings wont work with new SAF.
If you unlock SAF, there is no need to do it again, SAF will store downloaded data to place where SAF.exe is located and use it when you reinstall/update SAF

SAF 6.1.8 released:
- LAVF updated to 0.54.1
- FFDShow updated to rev.4494
- added shortcut to configure FFDshow audio processor filter
- moved MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 decoding to LAV video decoder
- added HW acceleration profiles DXVA (default) and Intel QuickSync for Intel HD 2000/3000/4000 GPU. The profiles are available from START => SAF => Special setting menu (only on Vista or never OS)

Note:
If you are using Intel HD 2xxx - HD 4xxxx GPU, do not forget to enable Intel Quicksync profile.
Known issue: 4:4:4 videos probadly crash the player.

Hoborg,

is there a reason why SAF by default does not play MPEG2 in ffdshow? I had to enable that manually. Otherwise it gives a black screen when playing .ts recordings.

Hi.
You should use PDVD decoder for MPEG-2 (you need to unlock SAF first to get it if you didt do it already), or use LAVF decoder.
FFdshow is not so good on this job.
Decoders should be set like on this picture:
