Loss Audio (AC3 5.1 stream) during I watch Live TV

Hi,

I have installed NextPVR since 5 days ago. I use with haupage HD-PVR 1212.

All work great (recording,music,video,plugin,etc) but I have 1 big problem: loss of audio during Live TV.

My input device audio is SPDIF. It stream Ac3 content. When i've installed NextPVR for the first time, there are no audio at all in Live TV. But after some search in this forum, i've changed Config.xml and mark <ForceSpdif>True</Forcespdif>. After that, audio work great.

But after some minutes (5, sometimes 15,sometime 30) of Live TV, video stop some second and restart but audio not restart. I have the image but no sound.
If i go in the context menu and i click on "Audio stream Ac3", audio work now.

But the same problem of audio loss remade surface...

I use FFdshow as decoder audio. Here's my log:

You didn't give a lot of details, it sounds like you are using an HDPVR or Colossus. For LiveTV with mine I have had the best luck with ticking the box to only include the appropriate decoders and setting the registry NextPVR to tell NextPVR to PreferAC3

Maybe also consider disabling AudioAdjust and ReClockorNot until you get the issue resolved.

Where is the registry NextPVR?

You talk about the decoder setting or nextpvr registry?

How can i set prefer AC3?

After serach in hauppauge support, i found an explication about my trouble.

I think that is the basic problem:

Because the HDPVR utilizes a hardware H.264 encoder, it behaves differently than typical
tuner based devices. The HDPVR encoder must be reset whenever the input video resolution or
bit stream audio type changes. Additionally, the HDPVR encoder may reset due to input video
dropouts or errors in bit stream audio. The HDPVR stops streaming at the onset of the reset and
resumes ~ 2-4 seconds after the return of stable audio and video.
MCE displays a “Weak signal” message when it sees” bad” or “no” transport data from a source
for a predetermined time. The reset time of the HDPVR encoder appears to fall just within the
threshold to trigger a weak signal message.

So,
I think that nextPVR made mismanaging this problem. When the HDPVR make a reset (due to short loss of signal), nextpvr made a reset too but only the video. Audio must be restart manually(in the context menu/stream).

Is there a solution to force nextpvr to put AC3 audio stream by default? Maybe it can resolve the problem...

NextPVR is working fine with the HDPVR and my AC3 streams. Sorry I missed your post but if you had searched the froum for PreferAC3 you would have found this http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post444289

After many test,

The same problem is always present. I try to modify registry to PreferAC3 but it's not the solution.

I tried all the decoder (lav,ffdshow,dtv microsoft). Also, i tried AC3 filter but it doesnt appear in the decoder menu of NextPVR...

(Recording work perfectly with no shuttering.)

Maybe the problem is my HDPVR 1212. I see the blue light flashing during i watch live TV and it's after that the sound dissapear...

I suppose a little problem of data treatment. Is it possible that the HDPVR 1212 had overheating problem? I see that in some thread.

Or maybe that the problem is in the temp buffer of live tv...

If someone has the same problem, please say to me.

Finally!

I resolve the problem. The decoder configuration was the source of problem.

In fact, it's a small bug of NextPVR with the MPEG 1 audio decoder. It must be disable.
