Nope don't see that, I think I mangled the dll copies. I'll know shortly if that worked.

Use the Nshared.dll from the thread below to see the source for each channel. The Nshared.dll in the latest patches is not the same as the one in the thread link below and DOES NOT show channel sources. Note the date is on the Nshared.dll is 10/27/2012, which is later than the last set of patches.

Have you also had a recent NextPVR.exe? One of these updates added the display of the channel source.

Keymaker: I did load that one in already and I did not realize the dll was date stamped...perfect.

Sub: The only update I did of the nextpvr.exe is the updated version in cumulative R1 patch.

Unfortunately I accidentally hit shutdown instead of restart on my remote desktop and do not have wake-on-lan so will have to wait until I get home to give it a go.

Keymaker is right. That is the file you needed.

First, thanks to everyone who helped out.

It turned out it was a very simple oversight which then snowballed into numerous mistakes.

The drop down on the channels page which offers up RCA and SPDIF was the culprit. It was not clear to select this option when adding or reimporting the channels. It was only when SUB provided the screenshot that it at made sense. I found that when reading the posts they may link to older content which has since been addressed. There was a comment by SUB that indicated this drop down did nothing, so I thought it did nothing.

Once I reimported the channels the SPDIF did appear however the sound still did not work. Once I changed to AC3Filter from LAV it worked. Another item is even though the system did not produce audio I did notice that when I <rightclick> <audio> there was a stream present. Once I switched it worked.

So I did a few tests last night and have a few questions.

1) I'm recording HD at 1080i, my files are only about a GB for 1/2 hour. This is a drastic difference when compared to WMC where the files are upwards of 2 - 3 GB. What quality is the stream captured at?

2) When playing back I found the video to speed up and slow down and then the audio and video to get out of sync, it would sync up again bu thought this was somewhat weird. Not sure how to address this. Note: system is well resourced so not sure what is going on here. Seems intermittent, wondering if antivirus is checking the file while being created.

3) Adding logos to the channels; I downloaded the Canadian video pack, having some trouble acquiring the US logos but ultimately I did not get any of the logos to appear, widescreen with default skin.

4) EPG updating on its own is working.

5) I did have an instance where I changed channels and the audio went dead, changed again and it worked.

6) IR blaster - I use the Huappauge Colossus one, I noticed that in some instances the channel does not change quick enough so if I enter 712 it changes to 71 instead. Is there a builtin config in NPVR or does the config from the HP blast config used?

thanks again

Sorry I had one more question...anyway to retain the recording information in the file details? rightclick properties details? All info is blank.

As you can see, I've made changes to the application for the next release to reduce confusion around the way a copy of the settings are stored in the channel tuning. It's done this way to accommodate users that use their tuner for multiple things (like satellite set top box via component video, and cable box via svideo).

There are some bitrate settings in config.xml. The bitrate it uses depends on the source resolution it detects. If you post the nrecord.log show a recording, we can check what bitrate is being used.

I haven't seen that. It's probably something to do with decoders. Also check how the CPU usage is during playback. You could be right about antivirus being a factor.

It looks for channel icons in C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Media\Channels. They names must exactly match the names for you channels + .png or .jpg.

Quote:4) EPG updating on its own is working.
Did you mean to say "not working"? If you post a the nrecord.log for the last night, we can check what happened.

Quote:5) I did have an instance where I changed channels and the audio went dead, changed again and it worked.
Again this sounds decoder related.

NextPVR just askes Hauppauge to change to channel 712, and it takes care of the rest.
