ok here it is, its still missing most features but i need a few people with large image collections (and with large image files, like 5megapixel digital cameras etc) to try out the random feature and the slideshow feature.

whats done
- random
- slideshow
- transistions
- zooming(with blue/yellow)
- panning(with arrows, must be zoomed in, otherwise will go on to next/prev image, and must be paused if in slideshow/random)
- rotate (with red/green)
- webimages (using .xml file, full support of zooming rotating etc, plus will generate a thumbnail)
- folder.png, will generate a 2x2 folder thumbnail for folders without a thumbnail (will use the first 4 images found, if less than 4 images are found, it will look for webimages with thumbnails in the database to fill in the missing; handy for folders that just contain webimages)
- Memory Cards - i added memory cards as a device type when defining virtual root elements

whats not done
-rslideshow
- playlists (still not sure on how i will do this)
- settings (theres no popup menu with settings yet, but can configure most things in the config app)
- config app not fully done (theres a stupid bug on the first page just ignore it(the timer interval text is above the timer interval numeric box, vs wouldnt let me send the label to the back, i have to exit it then reenter it, stupid m$ bug)
- config app is just a cut down copy of the one in myvideos, needs to be edited, the menu is configurable now thou, so can remove buttons and reorder them
- the exif thingy


how to install
just unzip the zip to the gbpvr directory (i suggest you first download the current version (if you havent got any copy of my pictures) and configure that first, you might have problems with this configuration app if its not already configured (you mightnt, but i havent spent much time on this yet).

there are two skin folders "my series" and "my pictures", my pictures just has one single skin.xml file in it, my series has a lot of stuff that is used throughout all of the my plugins.

if you find any bugs post them here, if you have any requests post in the request thread. if it doesnt work post here with the log, it probably wont work for some

oh and dont watch your memory in the task manager, it may seem high and not going down, but thats just .net garbage collector taking its time, it should drop down all of a sudden then go up, then drop, then go up etc. just see if windows says "running out of virtual memory"

also post the results of the transisitions, how long they took, how good they looked etc.

oh and i forgot about a sample .xml for the webimages, so here it is

the refresh is the number of seconds, in this case it will automatically refresh every 5 minutes.
just save it as [whatever].xml. ive attached a sample .xml file aswell (just incase you need help, just use notepad to edit it).

just test the new alpha, so here are some results from me:

- The deactivation of the buttons works great (thanks for that!)
- Zoom works very good
- The rotation is also ok in general but the red button had no function, i could only use the green one
- There is bug in the virtual root system, if i only have one virtual root the plug will not show up in the main menu. In the 2.1 version there was no problem.
- For the random testing i can't say now, i'm just running a test with my picture collection of about 1000 pics from my 3 Magapixel cam. (Will tell you the result in a few hours)

And then you wanted to hear something about the transitions:
looks nice i my eyes and has the right speed, but it looks rather sticky i can see almost every change in transparancy you make.

Just ran through my pics two times without any problems and even the bigger ones (up to 10 MB) loaded very fast. Great job.

ok ill look into this, it could be your remote or batteries, im sure it was working when i tested it.

Oh, i knew there was something missing.
OK i have a AthlonXP 2.6+ 512 and a Radeon9600 running Windows 2000 SP4.

I've tested around a bit more with the transition and for smaller pics (700 kB, 70% CPU usage) the transition starts very smooth but near the end i always think the next image is popping in rest of the way. But this does not mean that there is a pause before it happens, it's more when 70 % are done it jumps to 100 % at once. And for bigger images (1.5 MB, 100% CPU usage) the whole transition is not so smooth any more. Don't know how to explain it in english, i mean saying it is really sticky as i said in my last post is to hard. It more like your running a movie at 20 fps and you need 24 fps to have everything smooth.

I've found out what's the problem, I'm running GBPVR without a frame and for that i have to use the direct remote input and can't use the hauppauge prog for the remote. And in this direct input mode the red button does not seem to work at all, with the hauppauge proggi it works fine. So no problem in your plugin. I will see if i missed a new version of GBPVR and maybe it's gone then.

the way i made it work, is to create an image the size of the background (in most cases 720x480) using the current xpos, ypos, zoom and of the current image. so once that image is built, the transistion then just paints that image with different alpha settings, so the first time frame should take a bit (but you wont see it, since its off screen) and then it *should* be smooth. i did it this way to improve the loading speed etc with large images. but yeah ill try and improve on it.

Hmm! So you really started working on a new plug-in update for My Pictures, when are you going to release this one this week or next. Any plans on My Music also? So far what you have, has been very stable for me.

im not sure when it will be done, probably in the next week, i wont be doing my music for a while, theres nothing wrong with it as far as i know. but i will be slowly updating them all to use the "my series" skin folder, my videos will probably be next.

I haven't done much updating on the skins don't worry not running advertising annoucements on them here!
