Receiving data, but can't watch Live TV or recordings (certain channels only)

Hi guys,

I've got a bit of a problem with some Irish satellite channels coming from KA-SAT. Everything was working fine until a few days ago. I haven't changed my system, so I'm guessing that the broadcaster has changed their stream in some way.

NPVR is locking the channel and making recordings, but the recordings can't be played back. NPVR / WMP / VLC all show blank screens and no auto, can't seek the file. VLC 'sometimes' manages to render the first frame. VideoReDo is able to play back the whole file (with audio), showing that the data is definitely there, but seemingly corrupt in some way.

Just wondering do the logs suggest anything I could do at my end?

I can provide a sample recording via PM if anyone is interested in looking at the file.

Does the file end up a valid size, or way too small?

Hi sub,

The file ends up a size that you'd expect (about 1 GB / hour). There is definitely data in it because VideoReDo and Media Player Classic can open and play it, but it stumps other players including Windows Media Player and VLC.

As it happens the channels have come back to normal, I think maybe something went wrong over the Christmas holidays. I asked a friend with MythTV to record something on Christmas day, I'll report back to let you know how that went.
