it works now. thats nice! i'll work on the skin for a better xrecord-support.
silly question: how can i get a listview? yesterday i was playing around with xrecord and suddenly there was a list-item, showing me a failed recording. i never saw the screen again :-)

dottre,
How did you clean up the screen? I was looking around yseterday playing with the skin.xml under xrecord and nothing was moving. Also anyone know why this even happens? Aren't all TVs displaying gbpvr at the same resolution?

I too have started using BlueMCE2, then only major thing that put me off using it from day one was the awful xRecord display, and I can't live without the xRecord plugin.

Anyway I was hoping, after reading the recent xRecord release notes that support skinning was better in the newer versions.

So I've been fiddling around with the BlueMCE2 skin to see if I can neaten it up (along with a couple of other things).

I've managed to move the buttons & the recordings text to where I want, but I've come across the following things that have me stuck at the moment. I've fiddled with nearly every location setting and my guess is these aren't skinnable yet.

1. The text 'Title' appears at the top of the page, what is this? I did find what moved it in the skin file but I couldn't figure out what it is.

2. The recordings window, I can move the background (not sure if I want one or not yet) but I can't move the contents.

3. How do I change the space available for the buttons, I've got room for at least 3 more. I'd also like to change the spacing of them.

4. What is the drivebar, free space, can I skin this?

Those are the areas of major interest to me at the moment. Once I get this skinned properly I'll obviously release it to dottore so he can put it into the main release (if he thinks it's worthy).

4) it is a status bar that shows how much of the recording drive is used. You can move it around.

3) Look for button location (I think)
2) I thought that was a composite

I need to take a look at the code for the rest.

i've put nearly everything in the proper positions, the only things i couldn't skin yet are:

- when pressing enter on a recording, a detailed list view appears. i don't know how to move that list.
- i can move the popup-screens around the screen, but i need to change the gap between the buttons and the text.
- where can i change this blue rounded-rectangle which one you see by entering the manual-recording-screen?

i met those problems and then i had very few time and that's the problem with bluemce2 at the moment. the my-series is up-to-date (on my machine, just have to upload it), so if defusion can send me something concerning xrecord it would speed up the thing...thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply.

jorm Wrote:4) it is a status bar that shows how much of the recording drive is used. You can move it around.

So I can't change the colours of it at the moment, as it doesn't quite fit with blueMCE2.

jorm Wrote:3) Look for button location (I think)

Changing the size of that doesn't appear to do anything, the positioning works, but I can't make any more buttons appear.

jorm Wrote:2) I thought that was a composite

I'll have another look then, I tried playing with those composites.

It sounds like you've already got further than me, maybe you could send me what you've done so far & I can continue from there.

i've uploaded a new bluemce2.zip to the wiki. it is a new version though the filename is the same. just download it and try it. the only thing i've changed is xrecord-support and some new myvideos-features.

are you using other plugins or do you want to add them to bluemce2? since i don't have much time for maintainance i would try to be up-to-date concerning the my-series and the core-functions. you could then manage the xrecord/fastfind - thing and other plugins if you want to. so the skin could support more plugins....i thought of jukebox, video-archiver and so on....
thank you for the help!

thank you for the help!

My girlfriend told me about my horoscope the other night and it saying something about "...not biting off more than you can chew..." or taking on more work than you can handle.

At the moment I've tried to limit my plugins to what I need/use on a daily basis, so I only really have xRecord & My Videos which are candidates for skinning.

However I'm happy to work on xRecord, I've also tried to make some different little task guys as I didn't like the re-use of the TV guy. I'm not 100% happy with these guys yet, so I've been holding off from mentioning them.

I'll do whatever I can to help.
