Yes please, copy it before stopping playback. If it stops on it's own, there is a setting in NetworkRecorder.xml to set the buffering time, bump it up thirty seconds and see what happens. I wish CableCard worked here in Canada.

sub Wrote:I'd need a set of logs that includes nrecord.log, npvr.log and the c:\temp\reader.log (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NPVR\LogSlipFile=1). Do you remember any of the logs posted include these 3 logs files? sub, I need to create this key to get reader.log? It doesn't currently exist. Is the value Binary , string, dword...? Tried all and didn't get any log.

It's there but in the Wow6432 node.

It doesn't exist by default, but create it. If you're on a 64 bit version of windows, then you'll need to do the standard thing and set it in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NPVR

Sub, I have faked this NetworkRecorder to use a source file and it works ok, for creating the log files you asked for. The files do play as files but not as live tv. I am running into problems when the file ends, NRecord appears to report that EOF as the duration and not a duration reported by the demux. Would it be necessary for me to throttle the reading to an approx. bit rate for the file or can I just add a delay when EOF is reached?
The files do play fine with mpc-hc using the http://ip:8866/live?channel= interface so the streaming does appear to be good. Martin

Here are my log files. Did 5 channel changes - 3 & 5 froze. This was after fresh boot on PC. I've noticed after stopping service and then restarting it always seems to hang much quicker & more fatally next go around. Don't know if that means anything.

Sorry, might need the same logs again, but with one additional log. This time set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NPVR\LogReaderAutomap=1 and also collect the c:\temp\reader-automap.log
