Hi everyone. I am attempting to install NextPVR to replace my no-longer-developed Beyond TV. I'm installing on a Win 7 Professional SP1, 64-bit machine with plenty of memory and hard drive space. The machine currently runs Beyond TV just fine. My eventual goal is to use NPVR as the PVR backend, with XBMC as the frontend to everything.

The machine has an Hauppauge HVR-1850 dual-tuner card in it, with a HD antenna for HD and SD provided through a DirecTV STB which is connected by a low-speed serial cable for changing channels. I've got MC2XML, ComSkip, and the DirecTV channel changer installed. Each works as expected from the command line.

I installed NPVR 2.5.9, applied the R2 patches and NEWA 1.31.

Here's the problem...

When I try to watch Live TV through NPVR, it is apparent that the tuning isn't set to channel 3 (which is the channel on which DirecTV comes in). I don't know where in Configuration to set the default tuning so it's always on TV #3, and changes channels via the DirecTV low-speed cable. Can anyone help to shed light on how to fix this?

Please be as specific as possible -- I'm new to NextPVR!

Thanks in advance.

For the analog side it is easiest to install Win TV7 Then for your fixed-tuner recordings follow the steps on the wiki http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...etupDialog fur the tuner and changer. They explain it better than I can.

As Martin said, make sure you've got the Fixed-Channel set when you import your channels. See the top two controls on this screenshot.

Thank you both for your quick replies. I will try that out this afternoon, and report back (along with any additional questions).

Thanks again!

Thanks! It worked! I can now tune as expected via NextPVR and also with XBMC! This is great.
