Do you do any xml processing so avoid duplicate series recordings?

I assume that you mean "record every episode of Big Bang Theory except the ones that I have recorded during the last 12 months".

I do this by setting "Avoid duplicate recordings where possible" on Settings --> Recordings

I have set <DeletionHistoryDays>999</DeletionHistoryDays> in config.xml so that Next PVR remembers stuff for 999 days.

yep - thats exacly it.
I guess from the other thread that I may need to do something extra (you have a script) to get the OTA epg to avoid duplicates or do both xmltv and ota avoiding duplicates work out of the box. I was not sure if your script is creating the unique-id or doing some othe tidying of recordings.

My batch file has no effect on unique ids. For me, the unique id is generated automagically by NextPVR based on the Title, Series and Episode data in the EPG source. Series and Episode data is present in the Radio Times XMLTV data. I dunno for sure about the DVB data but I expect not.

For completeness, XMLTVgui has an option to add the Series and Episode number to the subtitle. This has no effect on unique recordings but it makes it easier to see what's going on in the Guide and the Recordings list. It seems that each time I fix OTA epg by using xmltv I lose other channel OTA epg. Now I have entirely xmltv !

I think (sub?) there may be some tweek that could be done as once the channels are merged I am wondering if the epg for all channels in the merge is still obtained and some are overwriting others or it not the first tuner in the list that is used. It would be good to explicitly specify which tuner the epg is obtained.

It would also be nice to be able to multi select channels in the setup and change their epg source as I have been changing them one at a time.

Another thing is that after performing all this channel set up, ie, moving channel numbers to the order I want, merging and setting epg source. Is it possible to export the setup so later when it all goes wrong I can import it back?

Hey thats brilliant. I was tempted to write something myself just to reorder the channels as it's taken me ages to change all to either no epg or xmltv.
Thanks for all your help - I expect you will see my pleas for help here and there as I get my media pc back together.
