Not getting 5.1 playback from DVD playback. Using LAV audio and video decoder. Any suggestions?
Using DVD drive and 5.1 speakers (no amp).

If you double click on LAV audio icon, you can see audio playback statistics like audio in/audio out, bitrates, channels, etc...

Do you have the Windows audio settings in control panel set to 5.1?

Hi Hoborg
Could you perhaps either remove the messages for W8 or change them to say something like - is unsupported but should work - if you don't want to support it. There have been quite a few messages on the forums from Newbies who have been advised to install SAF on W8 because there is no Microsoft MPEG2 codec and then complain SAF can not be used on W8. It definitely works - I have been using it since W8 release day.
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives
