DCR-2650 - error setting 'channel none'

I've been having a problem lately with my DCR-2650, where the tuner light stays on after a recording ends, and locks up the recording service if it is called for recording again. The recording does actually stop on time, but I see this error in the logs, which are attached.

Restarting the tuner does not fix it, I still get "unable to communicate with recording service", and have to reboot the pc.

Bump, and it happened again last night.

Happened again tonight. The recording file stops correctly, but the DCR-2650 tuner light stays on, and get unable to communicate with recording service error when I try to access the tuner.

That "Unexpected error setting channel none" message shouldn't really indicate any problem. It doesn't matter if this doesn't happen, and the tuner should still be fully usable next time it needs it. It's not clear why it would give this error message though, since other times that command line works fine.

You could try this attach patch though, which puts a bit of extra protection around the very last thing in your log. (checking the tuner status)

It happened again last night, after "The Daily Show". I don't see any additional info in the logs, attached.

NPVR is usable, and the recording file is complete (not growing), but the tuner light is still on and it is still streaming data. The Hauppauge tuner status shows the tuner still active and streaming that channel.

Do you get this error in your logs every time it tries to stop a recording? If you try manually running that command, does it give any error message?

No, I only see that error in the logs when the tuner light stays on.

When it happens, try running the command from the log, and check if it returns an error message.
