writeTime doesn't do anything except generate a Timing.Info file based on the PTS timestamps in the file. It might improve occasional files which skip to incorrect locations but I don't think it is better than NextPVR's system clock based Timing.Info. It's purposed more for old files, transcoded and/or cut ts files, and files not captured directly by sub's ts writer. I'd try it on problem files before bothering to add it to post processing.
