I had just tried to make an 8 minute recording of BBC One HD after applying the March 4th NPVR patch and restarting.

Your logs show you using the LAV Video decoder and since BBC HD is h264 that is a mix not supported by NextPVR.

The SAF codecs worked, except all my sound has now gone!

My default micorsoft audio decoders are no longer there, and for the top 3 dropdowns, LAV Audio decoder is the only option.

Sound is working in XBMC though (which is where I'm planning to watch from)

so just select the LAV audio decoders and use them then. they work just fine with SD and HD content (some decoders do not like it when the audio switches from 2.0 to 5.1 and back).

The LAV decoders are selected, but still no sound.

Odd. Do you have your default audio device set right in control panel?

Do you have the audio renderer set to Default? Other options can give unpredictable results.
