I can see it start transcode, but then it's killed :

But I don't see an indication why.

Is the G: drive a share and if so does it play from the C: drive? If not maybe start with these transcode options and move up http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post451958

I had a play with the command line that output in the log and was able to start vlc manually (on the nextpvr machine where g is local). Then teh Atv would play the video.

Butwhen I start a new trancode from xnewa, vlc shuts down about about 5 seconds.

I'll have a look at the transcode options as it's pretty low quality to start with.

How do I set the transcode options? Do Ihave to stream something from the pc first to get them saved?

The player/transcode options are set up in newa on the manage recording tab - stream buttons.

Maybe your PC is slow starting transcoding you can try adding a pre-buffer delay to see if it helps, assuming you are running 1.4.8


x-newa and newa should all this once it's setup. Send you xbmc.log if problems continue

Setting the delay to 8000ms worked.

PLayed a bit withthe transcoding settings. Using the presets it was 4:3. Did a manual one and managed to get it to 16:9 and fairly good quality. MIght need a play a little more, it's buffer after a while.

Seems VLC is not that efficient, else the options I have aren't. PLex transcoding with ffmepg has no issues keeping up, and it seems to have higher quality. But I've never been able to see it's transcode options to know what it's settings are.

That's certainly a long extra delay I don't need any.

Maybe cos it's 1080i h.264 content? Not sure. I find plex needs about a second/2 seconds to get going. VLC seems to need a bit longer.
