To provide for the new mobile broadband services (4G) a number of changes will be made, and these will result in retuning events.

So I thought it may be of use to post our updated tuning ini's
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

Thank you. I didn't know a retune was planned. It's a good job that one of us is paying attention.

Thanks, Alex. You must be off the same (Angus) transmitter as me? I can get my head around the sat tuning stuff, but the terrestrial numbers always trip me up. I'll chicken out and wait until the actual switch and fight with them then. My reception is borderline as it is due to trees, so gawd knows what state it'll be come the switch...

A slight tangent ... is XMLTVGUI/Radio Times missing listings for BBC2 HD? It's not a problem cos I have it mapped to BBC2 ... so I'm just asking.

BBC2 HD is not in the list of channels yet - the old BBC HD is still there but it's not returning any listings.

Yep - I'm Angus too - I have lots of trees between me and the transmitter but I'm fairly high up so I've always had good reception - in the old analog days I ran three TVs from an indoor loop antenna in my loft using passive splitters. When digital first came out I had to invest in a proper antenna on the roof and a powered splitter because of the low power output on the commercial muxs...

I'll likely post a revised ini file before the event so don't worry about that...

Our aerial is actually mounted very low down on the house in an attempt to see under the trees, rather than straight through them. I don't really worry about it any more since shifting to freesat as we very rarely use the freeview tuners now. Picture quality (on the whole) is better, and less hassle with audio as the HD channels use Dolby Digital rather than AAC.

Just done a re-tune - a lot easier than it used to be Smile
In each device: Select new ini - scan - right click - deselect all (So no rubbish channels get added) - OK - Job done Al channels on the updated frequency show as updated. Cool

Thanks Sub

Don't forget to change the frequency in updateepg if you use DVBGuide.
