Is it the same show every Monday and another show every Tuesday and so on? If yes, it may be easiest to create a bunch of this timeslot every week recordings. Apologies if you are already ahead of me.

But you have to create new recordings whenever it is replaced by new shows. No set once and forget it setting? Do not want manual records. Thanks a lot.

You could try Advanced Rules recording with a "rule" along the lines of "time(start_time,'localtime') > time('hh:mmConfuseds') AND time(start_time,'localtime') < time('hh:mmConfuseds') and channel_oid = 9999"

just create a manual recording with an Advanced Rule like this:

start_time like '%14:00:00'

where the time is the beginning of the timeslot you want to record in UTC time; in my case that's 7:00am. Note that when you specify an Advanced Rule, the "Start Time:" and "End Time:" in the dialog are ignored.

edit: this records only the show that starts precisely at the given time. while I was expirementing and posting this, Graham posted a little more advanced way to do it with a window of start_times, and a way to do it with local times that I wasn't even aware of. However you don't need the channel_oid part of the rule he mentioned, since that's specified in the recording dialog.

Here's a screenshot showing a recording of whatever is on CBS at 7:00am every day:
(again note that the "Start Time:" and "End Time:" are ignored)

I was going to suggest a manual recording, but why bother overriding the start time? The reason I didn't post is the OP's requirement for file naming to match the guide.

using the Advanced Rule, the recording name does from the guide. This isn't really a manual recording, it's a recurring EPG recording based on an advanced rule.

by the way, it would be nice if sub could hide or grey-out the Start Time and End Time on Advanced Rule recordings.

Hi, is it something like this? Set it to record daily but nothing appears in pending recording.

'17:00:00'(start_time,'localtime') AND '18:00:00'(start_time,'localtime')

or

time(start_time,'localtime') > time('17:00:00') AND time(start_time,'localtime') < time('18:00:00')

or what's wrong? Thanks a lot.

I have made it more complicated than it needs to be. You should follow the post from Johnson and his example re. CBS.

But I wish to set it in local time.
