The program 2.6.2 works fine with Terratec cinergy c-pci hd tuner card and only thing I can't figure out how to set it to put the computer to the hibernation after recording? I must use the hibernation not sleep because my BR drive is not recognized from sleep mode but only from hibernation. With the default software from terratec hibernation works OK. I want to use nextpvr because it has some features the the original has not.

My htpc:
mobo ga-g31m-s2l
E8400
2GB ram
Terratec cinergy c pci hd
windows 7 - x32
nextpvr 2.6.2

NPVR does not have any features for sleep or hibernation.
I just use standard Windows powersaving to hibernate after 20 minutes of inactivity. NPVR tells Windows to wake for pending recordings and EPG updates.

Thank you for answer, I tried that but pc won't go to hibernation it goes only to sleep. Can you explain step by step how did you configure your computer?

If hibernate does not appear in power options and you only see a sleep option then try this.
Open a CMD prompt and type powercfg -h on this enable hibernate.
then in control panel, power options, change when the computer sleeps (in left hand panel), change advanced power settings.
Brings up a selection box - pick sleep and hibernate should be there now.

I did exactly that but the pc went to sleep not hibernate. The hibernate option is present in my config and works well from within Terratec software.

Does this mean that the machine will automatically hibernate when the Terratec software is active? Does it mean that there is a Hibernate button in the Terratec software?

Exactly that ! After setting the recording at the bottom of the winndow is option to select what should happened after the recording is finished (stby, hibernate or power off).

Make sure any 'sleep' option in power options is turned off? I have seen conflicts where sleep happens before hibernate would kick in.
Sorry, I've run out of ideas now. One problem with NPVR is that it an also be a client/server system to many clients and having an option to hibernate after recording would upset the clients!

My personal opinion is, unless it's a laptop to save battery power, desktop PC's are better off with the sleep function and not hibernation.

I do not know of anything that would cause NextPVR to make Windows go to "sleep" rather than "hibernate". All that NextPVR does is tell Windows to be awake for future recording. It is Windows that decides when to go to sleep and Windows decides whether to sleep or hibernate.

The Terratec software is probably issuing an explicit command to tell Windows to hibernate. NextPVR just leaves it for Windows to decide.
