ElihuRozen Wrote:Hi Tim,

I got it working. Nothing is getting marked with New or Favorite New, but I use TV Listings & that marks the new ones for me. It probably has something to do with my using MC2XML to download from Schedules Direct and then running an xml transform I got from someone on here (I think pBS).

Do you get the plain "Favorites" marked? I'm pretty sure the New (and thus Favorite New) should work okay with the MC2XML download with standard Schedules Direct, but I don't know what the xml transform you are using might do. If you wanted to post your xml listings I could see what is there if you'd like.

Yes, the plain "Favorites" get marked. I will try running it on the original, pre-transform listings to see if that works. Once I know if that makes a difference, I can go from there. My xm listings are over 40 Megs, so I am not in a hurry to bother posting them at an external site.

No problem, I understand completely. If you wanted to look through them yourself, I can tell you that the program looks for shows that have "<new />" associated with them. I did a trial of Schedules Direct, and using MS2XML to download from them, programs seemed to have this tag.

ElihuRozen Wrote:My turn to offer some small utilities. One is QueryPending.bat. It uses sqllite3 to do a couple of database queries and display anything that is currently recording or pending. It lists the title, time, channel and tuner for each program. By default it pauses since I have it as a shortcut on my desktop. It takes an optional argument to not pause, which I use in my PostUpdateEPG.bat to generate a pending.log like sub used to do for us. The second utility is LogRoller. It rolls log files by renaming them. For example, renaming pending.log to pending-1.log after renaming pending-1.log to pending-2.log. When it gets to 5, it deletes the oldest. It rolls based on age and/or size.

queryPending.bat (queryPending.zip attached) – Run it with no parameters and it will pause until you continue it. Pass in NoPause if you are calling from a script and don’t want it to wait. It assumes sqlite3.exe is in the current directory or the PATH. It also assumes that npvr.db3 is in the parent directory. I put this in the NPVR/scripts directory on my machine.

LogRoller.exe (LogRoller.zip attached) – Run it with no parameters to see a usage message with examples. I included the AutoIT script (LogRoller.au3) if you want to see how I did it or want to modify it. (Note I lost the original script. I decompiled my executable and did a visual check of the result. I made sure it would compile. The executable is the original.) You’ll notice in the usage example that I wrote this for GBPVR. You can pass in the size the log file needs to be to trigger a rollover, the number of days since it was last rolled-over that will trigger a rollover and the prefix that will be used before the number in the new name. You would have to modify the script to change the number of backups from 5.

Let me know if you have any questions or comments.
