Problems getting started on the install

After starting the install I get a box saying "Server Database not found at \\hushpc\npvr\npvr.db3" you can only click OK. After that I found the setup, but could not get my tuner setup. I did get a message that the program was an upgrade or something to that effect. I did some scanning of the forums and tried installing as admin but no change also there was some suggested entries to be put into the registry but I still have no result. Any help appreciated. (First time poster and a little intimidated with some of the depth of knowledge around here)

It sounds like you have accidentally have client mode option enabled on the server. In NextPVR right click on the screen and go to the Setup -> Devices screen to turn it off.

Nothing ticked in the devices page. When I try to run live tv it says the recording service isn't available, or something like that and clicking on the main menu recording button brings up the screen and after afiddle around the original "Server database....." message Another message that came up after more playing around has more information Ünable to start service. System.InvalidOperationalException:Cannot start service NPVR recording service on computer!! ---> SystemComponentModel.Win32Exception:The system cannot find the path specified --- End of inner exception stack. Hope you can make some sense of this! I may have not typed the message exactly, but fairly close( had to read my own writing##)

Try running the installer again as Administrator (right click on installer->Run as Administrator).
