NextPVR Client in XBMC Keeps Buffering

Hey All,

So I have installed XBMC with NextPVR as my Live TV backend and client. I am using a Hauppauge 2250 TV Tuner and I have my NTSC Analogue Cable attached to this card. I have successfully had NextPVR recognize the TV Tuner card as well as scan all channels. I have successfully configured NextPVR client in XBMC and I have successfully had NextPVR play a channel in XBMC.

What I have not had success with is having said channel play properly without buffering. Every channel I have tried has buffering every 5-10 seconds and each buffering lasts about 1-1.5 seconds. This makes this setup virtually useless to watch.

XBMC - v12 (Frodo build Jan 28 2013)
NextPVR - 2.6.2 (Server is installed on same machine as XBMC)
Tuner - Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250
RAM - 12 GB
OS - Windows 8 Pro x64
CPU - Intel Core i7 920
HDD - WD 150GB VelociRaptor
NIC - GigaBit
Video Card - ATI HD 5450

As a test I also tried using my HDHomeRun with NextPVR using OTA HD ATSC and in XBMC the buffering was still there.

Anyone have any reccos?

I remember reading about a user having this type of problem, and resolving it by changing their XBMC audio settings. I had a quick search now, but couldn't see the post I was thinking of, so not sure exactly which setting.

Anyone else have more concrete...I have looked in Audio but don't know what to change.

I also searched the forums but couldn't find anything.

I need to use DirectShow and not WSAPI or I will have playback issues. Also check you deinterlacing setting to see if disabling it helps.

I have a pretty comparable setup, although with a little less beefy hardware specs, but also with a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250. I do experience this buffering issue from time to time with analog channels, but it doesn't last for more than 5-10 seconds once every few hours or so. More just a curious oddity at that rate.

I have the same problem and makes it pretty much useless to watch live tv. If I had to wait longer after switching to a station and buffering once that would be ok but the way it is now doesn't work.
