Channel Changer Arguments?

Hi Guys,

I've been playing around with NPVR today and need to make use of the analog channel changer option for use with my HD PVR.
I currently use IRSS to do the blasting with Mediaportal and it works fine, but I'm running into a problem with NPVR.

My STB needs a togglebit sent between the digits so that repeating channel numbers (ie. 122) are reliable.
The default argument in the NPVR channel changer is {channel} (ie. the whole channel number in one) - IRSS has the ability with it's command line blaster program to either specify the channel number as;

-channel 122 (here IRSS splits the channel numbers and sends each digit separately)
1.IR 2.IR 2.IR (ie. I can specify the exact digits to send)

Now because of the requirement to send the togglebit in between each digit I can't just use {channel} as the argument in NPVR and let IRSS figure things out, since it won't send anything in between the digits.

Are there any 'variables' within NPVR other than {channel} ?
I'm after something like {digit1} {digit2} etc.. so that I can manually build my command with the togglebits in between.

Cheers!

Yes, support for this was added awhile back. I can't remember how it works though. Anyone?

ah, found it; it was an update added back in January 2011 (now part of the program, no update needed):
sub Wrote:As well as {channel}, the attached update will allow you to use {channel_d1} {channel_d2} {channel_d3} and {channel_d4}. If the number is less than four digits, it'll be zero padded. You can then specify these on the command line to your .exe changer (.bat file or .exe).

Is there any way (or could there be) to pass the device name or some other identifying info the changer?

I use two separate bat files that really accomplish the same thing. I wouldn't mind being able to maintain one bat that simply tells "this tuner or that tuner" what to do based on the device NPVR has chosen.

Why not just create own unique device name argument in the arguments you add in setup?

I was thinking in addition to the above, in the arguments adding a {device} which could be passed to an exe or bat.

It sure sounds like you know something I don't...what am I missing? Smile

Why not hard code it. Instead of adding {device} to each device, just use HD-PVR1 or HD-PVR2, and then handle it as if sub passed the tuner name
