NextPVR PVR Client – Tuner no longer available

Hi,

I’m having an issue with XBMC’s NPVR where I’m receiving a “NextPVR PVR Client – Tuner no longer available” error but I can access the channel with the NPVR program without issue. This occurs when I’m watching certain channels and it’s a hit-n’-miss issue that is more often hit-than-miss. I ran my XBMC in debug mode, recreated the issue, copied the logs from NPVR and uploaded the logs to XBMC’s error log database (Case # 37848). I also made a video of it; it’s not of the logged files (I was swearing too much) but along the same lines.

I can watch 4 of the 6 channels but two of them I can’t - I get the error. But, when I got into NPVR itself, it works fine. I tried changing my NPVR and XBMC NPVR Ports but no luck.

If you require any system info or further information, feel free to contact me. It's with a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250 card, Windows OS, Thursday, Winds Calm, +19 Celsius, Sky Clear Conditions.

What gives?


PS: Swearing at it doesn't fix it. I tried that solution quite a few times.

You seem to have lots of locked=0 recordings which is not a good thing. xbmc doesn't handle bad files very well often causing me to kill the task.

I'm writing this on a qwerty remote right now because my laptop is at work, pardon my poor writing.

Strange, all I have for PVR recordings is the news from 1730-1900 which was split into 3 files. The LiveTV Buffer folder has 5 files which seem to have been created when the tuner became no longer available and would crash my channel. Do you mean XBMC's media folder? because my media is an 18TB NAS server. Do you mean the NPVR Media folder? That seems to just be set to the C:\Drive from default.

I will clear the LiveTV folders, Recording folder, and remove the C:drive from NPVR's Media Folder and see what happens. Will keep you posted.

No sorry I meant it looks like NextPVR isn't finding a good signal all the time.

Hi Martin,

After playing around with my setup a bit, it looks like the "amplified" portion of my MOHU Leaf ant. kicked the bucket after 15 months of owning it and it's only operating in passive. The Mohu Leaf is supposedly "US Military Mudflap Design and Quality"; I guess the inside of my window which stays closed 24/7 is a harsher condition than what a US Military Mudflap will go through. Their support sent me an SOL PFO (Smack out of luck, please french off) e-mail since I was 3 months past the 1-year warranty.

Guess I'm on the market for a new antennae. Will change out, probably with an outdoor and will keep you posted.
