Unmerge

Hi There,

I have a merged channel that has started playing up. My thought is that one of the frequencies in the merge has become weak (I got some blockies out of it this morning rather than the normal crash). Problem is the unmerge option seems to do nothing so I cannot unwrap the poor frequencies from the good.

Anyone got any idea about what to try next? XML file hacking I gues....

yes, I happened to need to unmerge a channel the other day myself, and it does nothing. sub said he'd look at it, but he's still away on business for a bit longer.

without getting into editing npvr.db3, the best course of action I can suggest is to delete the offending channel, then rescan and add back in all the versions of the channel without merging. then you can see which versions you should delete and merge the rest. be aware though that recordings scheduled for that channel will not automatically work on the "new" channel, even if the name is the same, because the internal channel OID will be different. you'd have to delete and re-create any recordings (including recurring recordings)

if you want to be a little brave, you can avoid re-creating the recordings by using SQLiteSpy (or your preferred SQLite utility) to check the OID of the channel before starting, and then change the OID of the new channel back again when you're finished.

Any update on "unmerge" ?
I have an issue similar to the 1st person on this thread. I am running the current version 3.5.7 and unmerge does nothing. I remember on a previous version unmerge did work.
I guess I will delete and go that root if indeed unmerge still is not working.

Is the negative minutes padding on the list of features/bugs ?

For the moment TV Listings allows negative minutes padding, but editing these recordings with TV Guide/Recording crashes NextPVR :eek:, no harm done on db
