"Unable to locate crossbar filter."

I found an NPVR thread regarding this situation.

During setup should I be scanning or export or import channels?

Do I need to attach a filtercheck log?

- G

PS unless I can be given the basics to get this viewing experience going from here...looks me and the "NPVR Tech Support Sticky" will be bonding.

Whoa. It is just a standard cable box from comcast (connected to the wall, RF IN), connected to my USB TV Tuner (RF OUT).

So go get the program guide??

For now, I'd recommend setting up a test channel before worrying about a full EPG.

Go to settings->Devices.

Select the ATI tuner, then click "Device Setup".

Click the drop down list, then select coaxial. (I'm not sure exactly what it'll be called, if you're not sure, tell us what the options are)

Next to channels, click "Add".

Name your channel "TV" or whatever., and save it.

Next, go to Settings->Decoders.

From the drop down lists for MPEG2 video and MPEG1 audio, Select the Microsoft DTV-DVD decoders.

Click OK, exit NPVR and reboot.

Open NPVR and go to TV Guide.

Double click your channel, and select "Watch".

Let us know what happens...

Well ok. I added my channel "TV". FYI - when I clicked Device Setup (after selecting ATI AV Stream Analog Capture), tuning was set to "cable".

Anyways I set decoders like you instructed, rebooted and I double-clicked "TV".

Nothing happened, "Watch" did not avail itself to select.

So, in the TV guide, the channel "TV" shows up, right? Then, to the right, there should be a box saying "no program details". Let me know if it isn't there.

Also, have you tried double-clicking "Live TV" from the main menu since your last reboot?

edit:

Also, try going to settings->Channels, right click TV, click Details, and make sure the EPG source drop down is set to "None".

Then, close NPVR, right click the NPVR icon in the task tray (a white "n" inside a black circle), and select "Restart Recording Service".

Reopen NPVR and see if the TV guide now has "no program details". If so, double click and select watch.

If nothing happens, repost your logs. (I know, I knowSmile)

Yes, "TV" channel shows up - w/"no show detail".

Double-clicking "Live TV" prompts - "Live TV buffer directory does not exist C:\Temp\"

Yes EPG is set to "None".

Did the "Restart Recording Service", but after re-opening NPVR...still displays "no show details".

Okay. In Windows Explorer, navigate to c:\.

Right click, select New->Folder. Name it "Temp".

Try live TV again.

The "no program details" just means there isn't any EPG data for the channel. When you double click the box, a menu should pop up which includes a "watch" option. This is what I meant when I said double-click the channel, not the channel name over on the left. My bad.

so did you create the C:\temp directory, or set the live tv buffer directory to a valid path?

if your epg source is set to None, then why would you expect the EPG to show anything other than "no show details"? go to Schedules Direct (http://www.schedulesdirect.org), setup an account and configure a channel lineup with the channels you receive. then you can import the channels with epg data into NPVR in Settings->Devices->your device->Import.

HOWEVER, please get your single "TV" channel working first.

(edit: sorry, this post sat in my browser window for a bit while I took a phone call; it looks a little redundant after thisheat's post. btw, full marks for your patience thisheat... garevalo isn't exactly making this easy)

@johnsonx42 (or whom it may concern), what do you make of this? Is it a driver issue? I seriously doubt that garevalo has the right driver for Windows 7 64-bit anyway:

Code:
2013-08-20 15:49:31.602    [DEBUG][1]    Building graph using: ATI AVStream Analog Capture (1).
2013-08-20 15:49:31.652    [ERROR][1]    Failed to build analog graph. Reason: Unable to locate Crossbar filter

Also the AnalogDevices entry for ATI AVStream Analog Capture has <Name>ATI 550 Pro</Name> whereas this is an ATI Theater HD 750 USB. Is that significant?

@mike49: What driver version are you using for your ATI Theater 650Pro PCI?

@garevalo: I admire your perseverance and hope it pays off! You stated in post #33 that your driver is version 6.15.10.501. A third-party website lists that driver for Windows XP 32-bit:
http://www.pcpitstop.com/drivers/downloa...Stick.html

Since you know how to find Device Manager via Control Panel, you might want to select the Drivers tab for the tuner, click on Update Driver, select the option to search the internet and see if Windows can find a better driver. If it was me (and thank heavens it isn't), I would go directly to AMD's website (which seems to have acquired Diamond and ATI) and give this driver a try:
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/wi...ng=English

Good news: Your tuner reportedly works with Windows 7, including the 64-bit version: http://www.amazon.com/does-work-windows-...B002UOUQ08

After I got your last reply, I had to drive my roommate to the auto shop. I came back to a blue screen - windows has shut down from an unexpected error. This is is a rare occurrence for my system, but not sure it was related in any way (maybe because I left NPVR open?).

So after reboot I then tried suggestion from thisheat...named a new folder "Temp" on the c:\ drive.

After trying "Live TV" option, I get: "Unable to find available capture device."

However, now when I select "TV Guide" and double-click on the show that is now viewing - I DO get "Watch" option!

Clicking this too leads to: "Unable to find available capture device."

Not sure where to go from here...but getting there - no?
