Found the error, in Task manager/sevices the NPVR recording service was still live. Killed that and the install worked

Just a heads up that nDroid needs stopping as well if you use it - keeps one of the sqlite dll files open.

'HDHR' source now only added for HDHomeRun Prime and Hauppauge DCR devices. Previously it'd also appear for older HDHR3 etc, where it shouldn't have been.

Does this mean 3.1.1 won't work with the HDHR3?

Thanks,
pete

It will. But the device type "HDHR" was only for CableCard versions. All other HDHomeRuns use the "QAM" or "ATSC" device type

Which version of the nDroid Service are you running? The latest version v2.0.2 shouldn't be a problem...I'm sure I fixed that...I think.

It will be an oldish one I'm sure. I'm a lazy sod for updates when things are otherwise working ;( - just checked - slap my wrist 1.8.8
Another task for tomorrow. There has been far too many tweaks and addons for my worn out brain to keep track of over the last few months (or years?).

lol - tell me about it. I lose track of things too easily these days.

The v2.0.2 nDroid Service uses its own copy of the SQLite dll - I did this because of npvr v3.x needing .NET 4 and I didn't wan't to break things.

Cheers,
Brian

Hmmm - it seems I can't edit my own posts in this thread...

I meant to add to the above post that what martint123 says WRT the nDroid Service is correct with older versions of it as it will sometimes hold a lock on the SQLite dll so it is better to stop it unless you're running the current v2.0.2 version.

Cheers,
Brian

Sub, how do you test for the presence of .net 4? When I installed 3.1.1 on my primary dvr, the installer insisted upon installing .net 4 even though it was already there... Rolleyes

I just use a commonly used installer script. I have no idea what it's checking to determine if it's present or not.

I'll keep an eye out for reports of problems on. So far its been working well enough to not worry about it.
