by the way, I see no one has yet posted their NPVR.log showing the error and/or exception thrown when NPVR attempts to initialized D3D rendering. Perhaps there is some difference in the logged message(s) that will shed some light on this.

I will pull out the Core HT 100 sometime today and get the logs (after updating it to 3.x). I'm pretty sure I left the hard drive in it.

Attached is the NPVR log. I guess this is the interesting part

yes, that's a different error than what is normally produced when the DirectX 9 runtime isn't installed (well, at least I think it is; it doesn't seem familiar). SlimDX.dll comes with NPVR. I'm guessing that somehow a different version is now needed for 64-bit systems, or maybe it has to be copied somewhere else?

Hmm. maybe it wasn't updated because of a bad file date which can happen when people copy folders. I'd delete SlimDX.dll from Program Files and run the installer again.

people with this problem, is your slimdx.dll dated Jan 2012?
