Audio progressively more out of sync.

Hi All,

For a few weeks now, all my recordings start out with the audio and video in sync, but the longer you watch, the more out of sync the audio is. For instance, in a one hour show, by the time you have watched for an hour, they are 3.5 seconds out of sync.

I did the 3.1 update, and that had no improvement. Tried different decoders to no avail.

Any ideas?

what is your audio renderer set to?

ok, I checked your logs. things to fix just because you should:

- switch to the EVR video renderer. only XP users use VMR9
- install the additional vc++ file needed to make DirectX work (patch #6 in the sticky)
- install the TV Listings 3.7 beta to get rid of all the SQLite errors in your log. link is in sticky, post 3, section 13

things that may help with the audio sync problem:
- disable all the audio decoder selections other than AC3
- switch to the Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder for H.264. I could swear I've seen comments against the Intervideo decoder you're using

I did all of the above changes and I'm still having the same delayed sound issue. Here are the updated logs.

Did you try any other audio decoders like LAV?

You can try changing <ForcedLiveTVClock> to "true" in config.xml but I don't think it will help since you are having the issue with recordings, not live TV.
There is also the PreferAC3 registry setting but that is usually for if you are getting no audio at all.

You may find that it needs a hardware upgrade if your system is struggling to render HD video.

Still not able to fix this. I also cannot watch live tv as it turns out. I pick something to watch live, you start to watch the show and then the display switches to the guide and says "please wait...." and you can still hear the show playing in the background. I seem to remember having this problem before, but I'm not so worried about that right now.

I tried several other decoders in my list, should I download a codec pack perhaps? If so, what is recommended?

Can't see it being my hardware as the problem as I've had the same equipment for three years and never had this happen before. No changes recently either.

I notice your DirectX still isn't working. While I really can't imagine that would have anything to do with your problem (it should only affect UI rendering), it's worth correcting anyway.
